Nine flagship experiences across England, Scotland and Wales — every itinerary planned hour by hour, every price stated in full, every table confirmed before you travel.
Independent since day one
Food Adventure began with a simple frustration: brilliant restaurants are easy to find online and remarkably hard to actually reach. A three-star kitchen in Cumbria means nothing if you do not know which valley it sits in, when the tables are released, or that the farm tour has to be requested eight weeks ahead. We built this catalogue to close that gap.
We are a small team of travellers, cooks and former restaurant staff based in Gdańsk, and we work exclusively on the United Kingdom. Every venue in our catalogue has been eaten in by someone on this team, at our own expense, before it was listed. We accept no commission from any restaurant, which is the only reason a £250 pub lunch in Kent can sit beside a £550 tasting menu in Berkshire with exactly equal billing.
What we sell is not a table — it is the whole journey that makes the table make sense. The drive over Sutton Bank before dinner in Oldstead. The estuary walk that should precede lunch at The Sportsman. The ferry timetable that decides whether Skye is realistic in November. We map all of it, write it down, and send it to you a week before you leave.
Our promise is deliberately narrow and, we hope, useful: honest recommendations, complete prices, confirmed reservations and a named human being on UK hours for the entire trip. If a restaurant is not worth the miles, we will tell you — and suggest the one that is.
More about our team
Nine curated experiences
Food Adventure builds complete culinary itineraries around the United Kingdom's most significant restaurants — not just a table for two, but the whole journey that makes the meal make sense. Every package in our catalogue starts with a confirmed reservation at a venue we have eaten in ourselves, and grows outwards from there: the drive through the Cumbrian fells, the ferry timetable to Skye, the harbour walk in Padstow before lunch, the late train back from Leith.
Our catalogue currently covers nine flagship experiences priced from £250 to £550 per person, ranging from a three-hour lunch in an unassuming Kentish pub to a two-day farm-and-table escape in the Lake District. Each one is documented in full on its own page: the hour-by-hour plan, exactly what the price includes, what it deliberately does not, how long the meal runs, how many courses to expect, and how to reach the door without stress.
What we add on top of the booking is preparation. You receive a written briefing pack seven days before you travel — dress code, dietary handling, parking or nearest station, recommended arrival window, and the two or three dishes worth saving your appetite for. Where a kitchen offers a farm tour, a cellar visit or a chef's-table chat, we arrange it in advance rather than hoping on the day.
We are deliberately restaurant-led and independent. We accept no commission from venues, which is why a £250 pub lunch sits in the same catalogue as a £550 tasting menu with equal billing. If a restaurant is not worth the journey, it simply is not listed. Tell us your dates, your region and your appetite, and we will match you to the right table — or tell you honestly that the trip should wait for a better season.

Every venue is visited and paid for by our own team before it enters the catalogue. Nothing is listed on reputation alone.
We take no fee from restaurants. That is why an unassuming Kent pub sits alongside a three-star Berkshire kitchen with equal weight.
We hold allocations at the hardest-to-book kitchens in Britain, so your date is secured before you book flights or trains.
Driving times, rail links, ferry windows, parking and the walk before lunch — mapped for every venue and every season.
Dress code, allergens, arrival window and the dishes worth saving room for, delivered a week before you travel.
One person, one phone number, from departure to the last course. No call centre and no ticket queue.
Dates, region, group size and how adventurous you want the food to be. Two minutes by email.
Within two working days you receive two or three matched experiences with honest pros and cons.
Reservation secured, dietary requirements logged with the kitchen, extras such as farm tours arranged.
Seven days before travel: route, parking, dress code, timings and what to order.
A named contact on UK hours for the whole trip, in case anything needs changing on the day.
Our catalogue runs from £250 per person for the coastal pub experience at The Sportsman in Kent to £550 per person for the full multi-sensory menu at The Fat Duck in Bray. Every price on this site is the complete package price per person and each restaurant page lists exactly what is and is not included.
For weekend dates at the three-star kitchens we recommend three to five months. Midweek dates are often available at six to eight weeks. Remote venues such as The Three Chimneys on Skye and The Black Swan at Oldstead depend heavily on season — tell us your window and we will tell you honestly what is realistic.
Yes. We collect dietary requirements at the point of booking and confirm them directly with each kitchen at least 14 days before your date (21 days for Skye). Vegetarian tasting menus are excellent at L'Enclume, The Black Swan and The Kitchin; Ynyshir is the one venue where a full vegetarian route is not offered.
For four of the nine, effectively yes — Oldstead, Skye, Cartmel and Eglwys Fach have little or no public transport. The other five are reachable by rail plus a short taxi, and we include the transfer in the package where that applies. Your briefing pack always covers both options.
Water is always included, and several experiences include a specific drink — Champagne at The Kitchin, a Talisker dram on Skye, an ale at The Sportsman, a cocktail in Padstow. Full wine pairings are never included but can be added at booking, from £75 to £199 per person depending on the venue.
If a kitchen cancels for any reason, we refund the experience in full or move it to the next available date, whichever you prefer. We will also help rearrange associated accommodation where we booked it. We are not able to refund travel you arranged independently, which is why we recommend flexible tickets.
Send one email. We reply with a shortlist within two working days — no obligation, no commission, no upselling.
